Bargue Drawing Course

Take your drawing skills to the next level with the Bargue Drawing Course, a classical training method studied by masters like Vincent van Gogh and Picasso. Based on the Cours de Dessin by Charles Bargue, this program is designed for advanced and disciplined students who want to build precision, accuracy, and confidence in their work.

In this course, you will learn the sight-size approach, training your eye to see shapes, lines, angles, and proportions with greater accuracy. The focus is not on copying but on developing strong technical foundations and the ability to truly observe and render with clarity.

Students will work in charcoal, the traditional medium for this method, while receiving step-by-step guidance through the Bargue process. Each session includes instruction, demonstrations, and small-group critiques (up to 4 students) to review progress and refine skills.

This course is ideal for artists who are serious about mastery—those ready to slow down, study with discipline, and achieve a deeper understanding of drawing. By the end, you will have sharpened your eye, strengthened your technique, and built the foundation to create artwork with classical precision and depth.
